Project Life: February, Part I

February is done and done! I'll share it in bits this week. First, a page for detail - this one covers roughly the beginning to mid-Feb, 2012 complete with 'Mollie mail' (I'm very lucky to get lovely hand-written thank you notes in my job) and my rather hilarious Valentine's card this year (Not the one with the heart, the one with the 'Bunnyraptor', obvs. The inside reads: "I'd gladly ride that mother-fucker into battle for you." Thank you Adam!).

Southsea is rather nice

I got to spend some time with Alexa this weekend, scrapbooking, vintage shopping, gourmet-eating, drinking and seeing The Silver Beatles. All in all a fabulous time and I got so much done. Half way through March now for Project Life. Go me.

I'm not the kind that keeps up to date. I just have to accept that.

Me in mustard yellow - my favourite! Will share my finished pages for February this week.

Another reason why Bath is awesome...

...We're on the map. Seeing as I grew up in a town that's too far away from anywhere to have anything very cool happen (ie good gigs, sporting events, theatre etc), living in a city that draws a crowd still thrills me. And there was quite a crowd here for the Olympic torch as it made it's way round the country yesterday.

We found a shaded spot by The Empire on Grand Parade. Then came torchbearer Ellis Grubb:

You can't see his face (I'm so short), but that's sprinter, Jason Gardener.

I loved seeing the runners with the torch. I didn't love the adverts on wheels as Coca Cola et al limped past, ten minutes before the flame like THE most disappointing carnival. The whole thing is so heavily sponsored that it's hard not to be a cynic. **The Olympics is brought to you by corporations, please be impressed by the super-humans then buy our mediocre stuff**

Still, I do love everyone coming together for a bit of flag-waving and a party. We had the afternoon off and went to the pub. All good really. Looking forward to gate-crashing my boyfriend's tickets for Greco-Roman wrestling and Men's Hockey in the summer. Only the most random sports events will do for my honey, but hey, he got every ticket he went for.

Kite-flying, city-gazing

Solsbury Hill, sunshine and Holly's kite. This was a good idea. I love stepping into songs, too. ('Climbing up on Solsbury Hill/ I could see the city light' - Peter Gabriel). I was sure I could see the Westbury White horse and the hilltop walks I used to take around Swindon from up there. And then, the whole of Bath laid out in front of us.

The Royal Cresent and The Circus are just behind Walcot Street, behind the hill I think. Ironically enough, you get the best views of the Crescent from the rougher end of town!

Sarah got married...

I have a lot of colleagues who are good friends too, and Mrs Montrose is one them. Her vintage wedding took place just after we went to press with the Let's Get Hitched wedding lookbook, and I hope it got her in the mood for the wedding writing all those captions!
This was a truly handmade wedding. Sarah put so many of the lovely touches together herself, and many a crafty evening was spent with her girlfriends, papercrafting, twisting wire and placing beads. My job was stamping all the name tags for the tables. I love helping with stuff like that PLUS I got to keep my tag for my Project Life album.Win win.

Congrats Mr and Mrs Montrose, currently in Mauritius. Her Instagram pics are incredible - go check them out. She's @monty_rose.
